Meet the Founder
A Trauma-Informed, Somatic Foundation for Thoughtful Care
Hidden Trails Therapy was founded by Ashley Vande Slunt, LMFT, with the intention of creating a mental health practice grounded in nervous system and somatic awareness, identity-affirming care, and holistic, integrative approaches to healing.
Ashley’s clinical roots are in somatic and trauma-informed therapy. Her work is shaped by years of training and experience in EMDR, nervous system regulation, mindfulness-based practices, and relational depth work; approaches that honor both the body and the complexity of lived experience.
Why Hidden Trails
Hidden Trails Therapy was created as a response to the limitations of one-size-fits-all mental health care. Ashley envisioned a practice rooted in somatic and holistic approaches, where therapy honors the mind–body connection and supports sustainable change through safety, attunement, and choice.
Hidden Trails Therapy is grounded in trauma-informed, somatic, and holistic care that honors autonomy, lived experience, and personal context. Our clinicians approach therapy with cultural humility, non-judgment, and respect for each client’s unique background and story.
Care at Hidden Trails centers personal pace and lived experience, supporting adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, life transitions, and complex family systems through an integrative, body-informed lens.
A Somatic & Holistic Lens
Ashley’s background as a somatic and holistic practitioner informs the culture of the practice as a whole. She believes that meaningful healing involves the nervous system, the body, and the relational field, not just insight alone.
This lens influences how clinicians at Hidden Trails approach care: with curiosity, depth, and an understanding of how stress, trauma, identity, and lived experience shape the mind-body connection.
Leadership & Clinical Integrity
As Founder and Clinical Director, Ashley is committed to maintaining a high standard of ethical, trauma-informed care across the practice. She collaborates with clinicians who share values of humility, ongoing learning, and respect for client autonomy.
Hidden Trails Therapy is designed to be a thoughtful, supportive space: both for those seeking care and for the clinicians who provide it.
